Boston, MA, a worker who was only on the job for two weeks was killed when he was asked to brace himself up against some slabs while his co workers remove another slab.

Tallahassee, FL a 7 year old boy was killed when several A frames fell on him while his parents where looking for granite for their new home

In Livingston,NJ a truck driver was severally injured when asked to help hold some slabs while they were being unloaded.

Calgary, Canada. A 53 year old man received pelvis and arm injuries when a granite slab fell on him.

New Jersey, A 48 year old man was crushed to death by a falling 700 lb slab of granite.

Mercer Island, WA. A 22 year old man was killed when several slabs fell off a forklift and hit him in the head.

As more and more stone fabrication shops open up, the rate of accidents are also on the increase. Unfortunately governmental organization like OSHA and others have few regulations when it comes to handling and storing these heavy slabs. Trade Organizations like The Marble Institute of American have begun to address these issues but unfortunately this information is not popularly known amongst the thousands of fabrication shops throughout out the US and Canada.

Stone Forensics has served as an expert witness and consultant for many of these cases and can aid attorneys and others in the proper safety procedures to prevent these type of accidents
